Something I have been wondering was how everyone came to know about this site, and participate here.

Personally I was shown this place by Cadogan Trahem, and a while after that I started playing in the Gauntlets

In the long period of not being able to use msn or anything I kept getting messages in the OOC thread of VSF (when he played) asking me to get in touch with him aobut his site
eventually I looked and I saw that it was good :)

BRR recruited me into his Vodalian Special Forces game from another board. I ended up taking control of Shadow Monkey's cleric and have become a semi-permanent fixture here.

I was recruited into Billy's Temple of Elemental Evil so was Danny. Then Danny created the site and the game moved here.

I actually don't even remember (well it was a year ago). I think Kahluah moved his game here from 3EBB and I naturally came with it. Of course I then discovered all the other fine games here and I had to stay.

I too was brought in with Kahluah's game.

So you can blame him for everything!

WOW I didn't even remember that CT, I think your right though. But I was a member when it was hosted on Danny's home computer:-)

I'm unsure, but think Shoun -and THEN RttToEE- was the first PBP I joined at your site (Thalantor briefly ran "Baldur's Gate" on 3EBB, which was my first PBP ever - together with Megamieuwsel, El Tonio and Ragallach Macgormac).

And "hosted at Danny's home computer" is hardly what I would call it; I merely experimented with an illegally attained version of vBulletin. The ads and more importantly the cost to keep the ads away on Billy's ezBoard provided me with a simple idea for a site with a bulletin board.

I can't even remember why exactly WhoNAN decided to pay for hosting, but when he did the site suddenly became serious. Serious enough for me to shell out $290 (USD) for software plus 20 euro every month. My excuse: every hobby costs money.

They only cost money if your not trying hard enough. ;)

I'll pay you 100 USD dollar if you manage to host a copy of this site on a server (without popups and 99.9% uptime) with legal software without paying a penny...

I guess you can safely say you just made a fool of yourself :)
