****If you are a player in "Seekers of the Lost Age" you probably shouldn't read this****

That being said I have a question concerning Exalted second edition. In Exalted there are a number of charms that send a person or object to "Elsewhere" the object is for all intents an purposes not perceivable by anyone. The question is then: could a character use Spirit-Detecting Glance (core p. 221) to peer into Elsewhere and locate people or objects within it?

By strict text, no. 'Elsewhere' is technically another plane of existence (or perhaps a void that exists between them - who knows!), much like Yu-Shan, the Underworld, or Malfeas. Spirit-Detecting Glance allows Exalts to see dematerialized spirits (potentially objects as well), however it never says that it lets the same Exalts see outside of Creation.

There may be high-powered Charms and/or Spells that let you peer into Yu-Shan or other places, but I can't think of any examples off of the top of my head. If they do exist, you could conceivable create a similar Charm/Spell to do the same with Elsewhere.

Also, Western NY, eh?

Little late on the response XD already "ruled" that the charm would allow the player to see one particular object hidden in elsewhere mostly for plot reasons.

Any interest in playing Exalted? I have a vacancy i'm trying to fill. If so check out my game "Seekers of the Lost Age"

and yea western NY....Fredonia to be exact

Hah, awesome. Both fhgwdads05 and I are Fredonia alumni. Nice to see some local folks playing exalted on the boards. :)

I might be interested in an exalted game, so long as I can plan an infernal

Potentially interested. I'll take a look at the game and get back to you!

BTW, just in case you missed it, "ranchesta" is a certain city in a certain Western-NY accent. ;)
