For those who have experience with building computer systems, have a laugh at the following picture of a P4 cpu bought through "Scan":

Well, the barcode seems odd
according to the barcode, the same number should be printed over and over again

Well since even the person dealing in computer parts didn't see it...: The barcode sticker is Scan's seal of warranty, removing it will nullify your warranty. However, a piece of paper between cpu and cooler isolates in such a matter that this cpu will NEVER be able to run at full speed without crashing.

So... have you sent back the "defective" chip to Scan with your letter of apology that you will not be purchasing anything from them ever again?!? :)
Gotta love industry-idiots

Not my cpu, but the owner DID send it back because under their terms it was defective. Then he wrote Intel about Scan's methods (Intel is known to revoke OEM licenses after just 1 complaint - especially such severe ones).

they're back selling boxed cpu's then.
costs a lot more :D
I'd like to defend myself on the account that I thought that the sticker was an enlarged piece of the processor. Checked several cpu, but couldn't find it. :(
