Call me crazy but there's just something about the fall that I love. Oh don't get me wrong, spring is beautiful after a New England winter with all the new life sprouting up and the warm days. Summer is gorgeous too, the heat, the humidity, being able to stretch out in the sun after swimming in the lake or ocean. Winter isn't all that bad either, there's something inherently beautiful about a gentle snowfall in the woods.

But fall, fall has to be one of my favorite times of year. The smell in the air, the warm days and cool nights. I don't know. I think it's just something about nature having one final burst of glory before falling silent for the winter that really makes me appreciate the season.

Plus apple cider is awesome.

Bah you're crazy.....now bring winter back.....**Notes: I live in australia, southern hemisphere, our seasons are opposite to yours** Currently we are in Spring, and damn is it hot, curses thinking about summer :(, yes it is going to be a damn hot summer, it's going to be murder.

Maybe a change in location is in order? Find yourself a nice temperate region to live in. Over in the Pacific Northwest, our climate is mild year round. A good amount of rain, just right humidity, and for the most part no need for indoor air conditioning (a few exceptions in the summer).

I prefer the spring up here. With spring comes the rains, new leaves and the smell of flowers. But, mainly I like it better because I don't have to worry about cleaning the gutters. They have a tendency to fill up with leaves in the autumn. And I hate having to climb on the roof when the thing's wet.

Well I would just like to say that I HATE hot weather. Especially when I have to walk for two hours through it to get to my girlfriends place. Wearing Black. And my nice big coat ... you know I’m starting to rethink this whole Goth thing.

It has some draw backs:]

Sounds like itches is copying me -- I've done it for 2 years. BTW you don't actually need the coat in summer. Watch me in winter: Black shirt, jeans, belt, full length trenchcoat, several chains, metal finger armor w/claws, and some old boots.

I love winter, especially the brutal ones you get every so often here (We may be due for one this year). The front yard freezes under an inch of ice. Stomp on it, and the next morning you get an iron maiden on your lawn.

Autumn is a crappy month
everything is brown

It's not cold enough for snow and it's not warm enough to have barbeques or anything like that

although down here it's much warmer than back home
still I don't like Autumn , it is the season with nothing going for it

Apple cider comes in two forms: alcoholic and non (the alcoholic kind called "hard cider" can vary as to how much is in it). Traditionally it's made from fermented apple juice with nothing else added as apples contain wild yeast. However as it's usually mass produced today it's usually made from apple concentrate and has yeast culture added to it.

I'm telling you, on a cold autumn evening there's nothing better than some hot, spiced cider (add in cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, whole cloves, boil, simmer, and serve). But that's just me...

Now THOSE people take their cider seriously.

Autumn is indeed the best time of the year. I especially like horseback riding in the fall; no insects and the horses are energetic.

yet i want to move to the uk
You and every other non-british person there is :)

I knew what cider was, I've just never seen it called "apple cider" before. I suppose you copuld make a cider with pears of something if you tried. Over here it's cider and it's mainly used becuase it's very cheap to buy a few litres

Yep, just explaining for Itches who apparently hasn't heard of it.

And yeah, you can have non-apple cider. I think I've seen the cranberry stuff kicking around before. Doesn't sound too appealing.

hmmmm
I'll have to keep an eye out for some non-apple stuff
sounds kinda interesting, mainly becuase cider actually tastes like the fruit it's made from (well in the case of apples anyhow) rather than wine which tastes bugger all like grapes

Heh, wine tastes exactly like what it's made from: smelly feet

Can you tell I'm not fond of wine? Give me a decent beer any day!
